Harlow’s, named for Chris’ Wheaten Terrier, is a shop
combining upscale and luxury resale with fine art.
Customers are often greeted by a cheerful Harlow as
they enter the store.
Chris Riley is an established visual artist from western
Canada. Her awareness of sustainable resale fashion
as a fast-growing industry is what spurred her decision
to move to Amelia Island to open Harlow’s. Chris and her
husband Bill are also accomplished sailors so their combined passions of art, boating,
and history made this island a lucky find and an obvious choice. “I love how quaint
and unique my boutique gallery has become,” Riley says, “Merchandising vignettes,
styling the mannequins and rearranging art is such fun, but really, it’s the people who
visit that make it special. We have made dear friends of consignors and customers who
feel safe sharing stories and always having a laugh.” There is a terrific mix of people
seeking vintage finds, the treasure hunter looking for that unique painting and always
incredible deals on luxury items like Louis Vuitton, Gucci and Chanel, to name just a few.
“I get such a charge out of helping people put outfits together, and taking in items for
consignment is just like Christmas,” Riley original paintings are available online through
her website www.rileyart.com, and in different venues around town including Shrimp
Fest. Harlow’s is truly delightful.
Visit soon… visit often.
